Adrian de Villiers (a graduate of St. Martins in London) was a prominent artist in the South African sculpture scene during the 80′s with several of his works now in public and private collections worldwide such as the Haenggi Foundation. Before returning to the United Kingdom he was Assossiate Professor and Head of Sculpture at The University of Bophutatswana, South Africa. He returned  to the UK in 87 and devoted his time to art pedagogy where until recently he taught Fine Art and Product Design as Head of Art at Glasgow Academy. He has now returned to being a full time artist and is currently working on a series of mixed media  pieces. These pieces are primarily a combination of Intaglio, Silkscreen and Giclée printmaking, but not exclusively, as he also uses inks, dyes and pigments to ensure that  each is unique and not part of a series.  The artist uses bold colours and imagery drawn from both his formative years in Africa and  latter years in Europe.
